This Privacy Policy explains how WebToolsz ("WebToolsz", "we", "us" or "our") handles information in connection with the Rasoi Planner mobile application (package name com.webtoolsz.rasoiplan, the "App"). WebToolsz is based in India and offers the App to users worldwide. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
The short version: Rasoi Planner works fully offline and stores your meal plans on your device. You can use it without an account. If you choose to sign in, we store your plans and custom dishes in the cloud so you can back them up and restore them on another device.
1. Summary
- Offline first: Your meal plans, reminders and custom dishes are stored locally on your device and the App works without an internet connection.
- Account is optional: You can use the App fully as a guest. Sign-in is only needed if you want cloud backup and sync.
- Cloud sync (optional): If you sign in, your plans and custom dishes are stored on our servers so you can restore them on a new device.
- Third-party services: We use a small set of Google services for crash reporting, anonymous analytics, ads (free version), purchases and app updates.
- Your controls: You can reset your Advertising ID, manage notifications, upgrade to remove ads, delete local data, and delete your cloud account at any time.
2. Who We Are (Data Controller)
WebToolsz is the entity responsible for the App. For users in India, WebToolsz acts as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"). For users in the European Economic Area ("EEA") and the United Kingdom, WebToolsz acts as a data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and the UK GDPR. For residents of California, this notice also addresses the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA").

3. Information You Provide
Depending on how you use the App, you may provide:
- Account details (optional): If you create an account for cloud sync, we collect your name, email address and a password (stored only in hashed form on our servers). You may also have an optional avatar.
- Your content: Meal plans you build, the dishes you select, custom dishes you add (name and an optional photo) and your reminder times.
- Messages to us: If you contact support, we receive the information you include in your message.
4. Information Processed On Device
The following is handled locally on your device and, unless you enable cloud sync, is not transmitted to WebToolsz:
- Meal plans & history: The plans you build and your past menus are stored in a local database so the App works offline.
- Custom dishes: Dishes you add, including any photo you attach, are stored locally.
- Reminders: Your cooking-reminder times are scheduled on your device.
- App preferences: Settings such as your chosen theme, selected language and notification preferences are stored locally.
5. Optional Account & Cloud Sync
Cloud features are entirely optional and off until you sign in:
- What syncs: When you sign in and use "Sync now," a serialized copy of your meal plans and your custom dishes is stored on our servers alongside your account, so you can back them up and restore them on another device.
- Dish catalogue: The App fetches a public catalogue of dishes from our servers to keep suggestions fresh. This is a best-effort download; if it fails, the App uses its built-in offline catalogue. No personal data is required to load the catalogue.
- Remote configuration: The App periodically fetches non-personal configuration (such as feature flags, which language strings to show and update notices). This request includes your app version, selected language and approximate country derived from your device locale — it does not include your plans or identity.
- Staying a guest: If you never sign in, none of your plans, dishes or reminders leave your device.
6. Information Collected by Third-Party Services
The App integrates a limited set of Google SDKs. These providers may process certain technical or usage data as independent controllers or processors under their own privacy policies. We have configured the App to delay advertising and measurement initialization where supported.
6.1 Firebase Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how features are used (for example, which screens are opened) so we can improve the App. This typically includes app instance identifiers, device and OS information, and event data. 6.2 Firebase Crashlytics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash and stability reports (such as stack traces, device model, OS version and app state at the time of a crash) so we can fix bugs. See the Firebase Privacy documentation.
6.3 Google AdMob (with Advertising ID)
The free version of the App shows ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may access your device's Advertising ID and related data to serve and measure ads. You can reset or limit your Advertising ID in your device settings, and Pro users do not see ads. See AdMob & privacy and the Google Advertising policies.
6.4 Google Play Billing
If you purchase Rasoi Planner Pro, the transaction is handled by Google Play Billing. We receive a purchase token and entitlement status to unlock Pro features; we do not receive your full payment card details. See the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
6.5 Google Play Services (Review & Update)
The App uses Google Play In-App Review and Google Play In-App Update, which rely on Google Play Services. These may process technical data to display a rating prompt or offer app updates. See the Google Privacy Policy.
7. Device Permissions
The App requests only the permissions it needs. Each is explained below:
android.permission.INTERNET— required for the optional account & cloud sync, the dish catalogue, ads, analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration and app updates.android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE— checks whether a network connection is available before contacting the services above.android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGES— used on Android 13+ only when you choose to attach a photo to a custom dish.android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE(maxSdkVersion="32") — legacy image access on Android 12 and below; not requested on newer versions.android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE— allows scheduled work (such as cooking reminders and weekly summaries) to run reliably.android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS— used on Android 13+ to show cooking reminders and optional summary notifications. You can decline or disable these.com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID— allows access to the Advertising ID for ads in the free version.
8. How We Use Information
- To provide the App's planning tools and save your plans, dishes and reminders on your device.
- To provide optional account sign-in and cloud backup/restore when you enable it.
- To diagnose crashes and improve stability and performance.
- To understand aggregate feature usage and improve the product.
- To display and measure advertisements in the free version.
- To process and validate Pro purchases and restore entitlements.
- To deliver reminders and optional notifications, and to offer app updates and configuration.
9. Legal Bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for personalized ads and, where required, analytics and notifications. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Performance of a contract — to create and operate your optional account, sync your data and provide Pro features you buy.
- Legitimate interests — for crash reporting, security, and understanding aggregate usage to improve the App, balanced against your rights.
10. Sharing & Disclosure
- No sale: We do not sell your personal information for money.
- Service providers: We share limited technical data with the Google services described in Section 6, acting on our behalf or as independent controllers.
- Legal: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request.
- Business transfer: If WebToolsz is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
11. International Data Transfers
WebToolsz is based in India, and the Google services we use operate globally. As a result, data described in this Policy may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and India. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms implemented by the relevant service providers.
12. Your Rights & Choices
- Advertising ID: Reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings, or upgrade to Pro to remove ads.
- Analytics & notifications: Manage notification permission in system settings; disable reminders and optional notifications in the App.
- Local data: You can clear in-app history and uninstall the App to remove local data from your device.
- Account & cloud data: If you created an account, you may request access, correction or deletion of your account and the plans and dishes stored in the cloud by contacting us. Uninstalling the App does not delete cloud data on its own.
13. California Notice (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising in the free version may involve "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the CPRA; you can limit this by resetting your Advertising ID or upgrading to Pro. 14. India Notice (DPDP Act 2023)
For users in India, WebToolsz processes personal data as a Data Fiduciary under the DPDP Act. As a Data Principal, you have the right to access a summary of your personal data, to request correction and erasure, to nominate another individual to exercise your rights, and to grievance redressal. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. We do not knowingly direct targeted advertising at children (individuals under 18) and do not undertake processing likely to cause detrimental effects to a child. 15. Data Retention
Plans, dishes and history stored by the App remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. If you use cloud sync, your account and synced data are retained until you ask us to delete your account. Data processed by our service providers (analytics, crash reports, ad and purchase data) is retained according to their respective policies and only as long as necessary for the purposes described here.
16. Data Security
We rely on on-device storage to minimize exposure of your data and use reputable Google SDKs that apply encryption in transit. Account passwords are stored only in hashed form on our servers, and sync requests are authenticated. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled through the App.
17. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children. By default, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. In India, "child" means an individual under 18 under the DPDP Act, and we apply the additional protections described in Section 14. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
18. Third-Party Links
The App or this website may contain links to third-party sites or services (for example, Google policy pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties; please review their policies.
19. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
